These are just a few of the highlights from the 2008 Pampered Pet Expo   Pet Tree Houses - Congratulations to Cynthia Goodrich from Oviedo! Cynthia won a fabulous Dog Tree House, courtesy of Pet Tree Houses. Pet Tree Houses have plenty of room for sleep or play, for times when they want to just tuck away. From hand cut cedar shingles and carpeted floor, this house is one your pets will adore!   The Swanky Pooch. This runway fashion show had all tails wagging! Attendees enjoyed our 4-legged models as they showed what’s hot in pet fashions. There was nothing “last year” with these darling pets. It was all about the fashion and the bling. Mix 105.1’s Dana Taylor presented the fashion event of the season. It was a howlin’ good time!   Adoptions Featuring: We have teamed with Petfinder.com to showcase Central Florida’s adoptables in our unique Petfinder Adoption Center. The Golden Rules – What Every Pet Parent Should Know!    Lawrence Frederick and the Disc-Connected K9's Frisbee Air dogs are an internationally acclaimed professional Frisbee dog touring show with some of the most amazing Frisbee Dogs on the planet. They have performed all over the world, as well as on Letterman, Leno, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, ESPN, Good Morning America and more.   Corene Fry, an experienced animal behaviorist and former animal trainer at Universal Studios' Animal Planet Live show helped pet owners reach a better understanding with their pets by simply learning how to communicate on their level and to pay attention to their responses.   ShowBirdz! This fabulous parrot show featured Teddy the rollerskating, basketball playing Cockatoo from ESPN Sports commercial choices Joining Teddy were Bogie and Cosmo who ride scooters, fly through hoops, and even ride high wire bikes. It was feathered fun for everyone!   READing Paws is a non-profit organization that helps to improve the literacy skills of children through the assistance of nationally registered therapy animal-owner/handler teams as literacy mentors. Children had an opportunity to read to a dog. READing Paws helps to build a positive experience with books and reading!   Pet First Aid and Emergency Preparedness Dr. Melissa Perez from Lake Howell Animal Clinic shared basic first aid skills to help stabilize your pet in an emergency until you get to the vet. Dr. Perez also discussed preparing for an emergency, from first aid kits to micro chipping and more.   Congratulations Cameo! Cameo was chosen as the winner of the Cover Pet contest on Mix 105.1. Cameo’s mom, Deborah Weichel, says Cameo loves everybody, young and old! As “Official Pet of the Show,” Cameo received a year of pet food from Purina and was featured on-stage and on the cover the Pampered Pet Expo show program.
